Introduction
Implementation of the welfare environment for citizens
The health and welfare committee (chairman Bak Cheolwon) is comprised of 8 members. The committee is responsible for the matters subject to the welfare office, the safety and environment office, health centers, civic centers, the municipal library, the Hamyeol branch office and the vehicle registration office while dealing with the policies related to the improvement of the health and welfare of citizens, with the focus on the disadvantaged and lower-income groups, including senior citizens, the physically challenged, women and children.
Philosophy
First
The health and welfare committee devotes itself to strengthening the health of citizens through strict management in food hygiene facilities and food safety management, as well as making the basic livelihood of security recipients and the disadvantaged, including the senior citizens, the physically challenged and child breadwinners, feel the practical welfare benefits through progressive interest and support promoting the welfare of youth, children and women.
Second
The committee tries to increase the usage rate of health care services by expanding the functions of the health centers and improving the service of medical benefits for residents, especially for those in vulnerable areas related to medical service as well as strengthening the health of citizens.
Third
The committee devotes itself to improving women’s welfare and promoting gender equality by more aggressively supporting the development of the women’s ability and participation in society through a variety of educational and specialized programs.

The health and welfare committee performs the council activities focused on the improvement of citizens’ health and hygiene, as well as those connected to the improvement of the welfare of the disadvantaged, including the senior citizens, the physically challenged, women and children.
